Come on out!

Join the Friends of the Sugar Land 95 for a special Juneteenth commemoration on Friday, June 19 as the community gathers to honor the lives and legacy of the Sugar Land 95.

The event will include a flag placement ceremony, documentary viewing, tours of the Sugar Land 95 Exhibit, and opportunities to participate in ongoing DNA collection efforts that support the identification of those discovered at the historic site.

Learn more and take part in this meaningful day of remembrance and reflection.

I took time off from my paid gig to attend TASB Summer Leadership Institute . This is an important opportunity each year for school board members to connect with each other and learn more about timely topics in Public Education in Texas that can benefit FBISD.

Some of the session topics I'm attending and learning more about: Fostering Legislative Relationships, Becoming a District of Possibilities...and more!

It was an absolute honor to attend many of the Fort Bend ISD graduations this past weekend. Thank you to the parents and other family members who came out and supported their graduates.

And a BIG thank you to the many FBISD staff members who made 12 (!) high school graduations for over 6,000 students and their families go off without a hitch over four days!! The work you did created memories for thousands of people in our community.

Congratulations to Walter Burton Elementary on your 30th Anniversary! I'm not able to make all these events, but I was able to today for a short while. Principal Charles, staff, students and the PTO did a fabulous job in recognizing Burton family members and the legacy of the school in our community. To the next 30 years, Sheriffs!

The meeting last night was challenging, and the preceding months had been demanding as we underwent our Long Range Boundary Planning Process.

I'd like to extend my gratitude to fellow Trustees for evaluating the proposal's advantages and disadvantages. I appreciate the tireless efforts of FBISD Admin staff and SBAC in crafting a plan for our current needs.

To the parents and community members who devoted considerable time to advocating for your schools, your active participation is valued. Your engagement matters.

I remain committed to working for FBISD's best interests and those of our students, staff, and families. I believe in public education, I believe in this district and I believe in our community.
