Rainbow Room of Montgomery County

Rainbow Room of Montgomery County Giving Children Hope through the Rainbow Room History: The CPMC organization was formed in 1997. Mrs. Did you know?

The Rainbow Room was set up and stocked in early 1998 in the CPS offices in Conroe, TX in a 12' x 15' vacant office. Laura Bush, who was the First Lady of Texas at that time, was the featured guest at the grand opening on February 12, 1998. Bush was instrumental in starting the first Community Partners organization in Dallas. Each year in Montgomery County hundreds of children are confirmed as abu

sed and/or neglected ... 800 in 2024. This includes physical, mental and/or sexual abuse. Many of those confirmed cases result in removal of the children from their home environment ... 90 children in 2024.

Today Walter Brown, Denny Irvine and Bill Smith delivered a bunk bed for 2 boys at a Conroe apartment. Five boys aged 7 to 18 live in the apartment with their mother. None of the boys were at home, but the mom was very pleased with bunk bed and assured us the boys will love it as well.
Mom has been sharing her king-size bed with the 4 younger boys so this will be a great help in providing safe bedding arrangements for the family!

Today, Bill Smith joined our Vice Chairman, Charles Kreger, in the delivery of a twin bed for a 7-year-old girl in Conroe. She was in school along with her 10-year-old sister, but her 2-year-old brother was present to witness the assembly! Mom loved the bed and assured us that her daughter would love it as well!

For three of us, Charles Kreger, Denny Irvine and Bill Smith it was a very interesting delivery of a bunk bed today for 2 Montgomery County boys, ages 5 & 6, who were placed with relatives in North Houston. There are 3 other children in the household … 2 girls, ages 3 & 9 and a boy, age 4. They were all excited about the new bed and wanted to assist! The family loved the bed!

The unique quilts were donated by the Golden Needles Quilt Guild. Many thanks to all of our supporters of this initiative which provides safe bedding arrangements for CPS children who have no bed of their own.

Today we delivered a bunk bed and a twin bed to a 3rd floor apartment in Conroe. The bunk bed is for an 11-year-old girl and a 12 -year-old boy. The Twin bed is for a 16-year-old boy. Since this delivery involved moving everything to the 3rd floor, we had an unusually large crew of Board Members to assist: Bill Walton, Sharon Williams, Walter Brown, Bill Smith and Denny Irvine. The Caseworker, Alejandra Hernandez, was a great help as well!

The children were in school, but the Mom loved the beds and assured us the children would be thrilled as well!

Today Charles Kreger and Bill Smith delivered 2 twin beds to a home in Conroe for an 8-yesr-old girl and a 9-year-old boy. The children were not at home for the delivery, but their Mom loved the beds and assured us that the children would love them as well.

The beautiful quilts are examples of the ones donated by The Woodlands Area Quilt Guild and the Golden Needles Quilt Guild.

Our “Bed for Every Child” initiative is bringing safe sleeping arrangements to Montgomery County CPS children who do not have a bed of their own. Thanks to our supporters who make it possible!

While today's big game brings so much excitement and connection, this statistic helps ground us in an important truth. Every number represents a child facing a situation they didn’t choose. We exist to meet those children in some of their hardest moments and remind them they are not alone! ❤️

Today I had the joy of assisting our Treasurer, Sharon Williams, in delivering a twin bed to a sweet 5‑year‑old girl in Conroe. Watching her face light up as she saw her very own bed was truly touching—she could hardly wait to climb in and try it out. The beautiful, lovingly crafted quilt that accompanied the bed was generously donated by the Woodlands Area Quilt Guild, adding an extra layer of warmth to a moment already filled with kindness.

Many thanks to our supporters who make this initiative possible!
