The Houston Tiger Send Off is one of our newest favorite traditions—bringing together incoming Texas Southern University freshmen, their families, and alumni before the school year begins. It's an opportunity to welcome the next generation of Tigers, share your TSU pride, answer questions, and help our newest students feel at home before they step on campus.

The 2026 Texas Southern University football schedule has officially been released. Please be advised that the Homecoming game has been rescheduled from October 10 to October 24, featuring a matchup against Southern University at Reliant Stadium.

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude that the Tiger family mourns the passing of a true institutional pillar and sports medicine pioneer, John "Doc" Harvey.

For 41 incredible years (1974–2015), "Doc" Harvey was the beating heart and constant presence behind Texas Southern University Athletics. Doc dedicated his entire life to protecting, healing, and elevating thousands of student-athletes. He was a cherished mentor, and a father figure to generations of Tigers. The training room inside the H&PE Arena bears his name, but his real monument is the countless lives he transformed across four decades of selfless service.

We extend our deepest, most heartfelt condolences to the Harvey family, his friends, colleagues, and the massive community of former students whose paths he helped pave. Rest in power, Doc. Your healing hands and unwavering Tiger spirit will never be forgotten.
