As we close out Men’s Mental Health Month, we honor the men who are helping others heal.

To the male clinicians in our Resource Guide, thank you for creating safe spaces, challenging stigma, and reminding our communities that strength and vulnerability can exist together.

June may be ending, but our commitment to men’s mental health continues.

Here’s to continuing the conversation, supporting one another, and making mental wellness a priority all year long. 🤎

Some lessons come with time.
Some come with struggle.
Some come with healing.

If you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be?

Men, we’re listening. Share yours below. 👇🏾

Grief has a way of changing us.

Not because we forget what we lost, but because we learn how to move forward while honoring it.

Healing doesn’t mean the loss mattered less.
It means finding ways to carry it with care instead of carrying it alone.

Who are you becoming?

Not the version of you that had to survive.
The version of you that’s learning to heal.

Growth isn’t just about what you achieve.
It’s about who you’re becoming along the way.

The conversation around men’s mental health can’t begin and end with “speak up.”

We also need to ask:
Who is listening?
Who feels safe enough to be honest?
Who has been taught that vulnerability comes with consequences?

This Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re recognizing that healing requires more than awareness, it requires community, support, and spaces where men can show up as their full selves.

Every conversation matters.
Every check-in matters.
Every step toward healing matters.

Let’s continue building a culture where mental wellness is part of the conversation year-round.

Halfway through the year, you’ve probably been asked:

“How’s work?”
“How’s the family?”
“How are things going?”

But when was the last time someone asked:

How are you doing?

Not as a provider.
Not as a father.
Not as a partner.
Not as the one everyone depends on.

Just you.

This mid-year check-in is an opportunity to pause and take an honest look at where you are mentally, emotionally, and physically.

No pressure.
No perfect answers.
Just awareness.

Take a few minutes to go through this audit and reflect on:

✔ What’s been weighing on you
✔ What you’re carrying silently
✔ What you’re ready to release
✔ Who you’re becoming in this next season

After you’ve finished:

June is Men’s Mental Health Month.

For generations, many men have been taught to be providers, protectors, problem-solvers, and pillars for everyone around them. But rarely are they given permission to be human.

Mental health doesn’t discriminate. Men experience stress, anxiety, depression, grief, burnout, trauma, and emotional exhaustion too. Yet many suffer in silence because vulnerability has often been mistaken for weakness.

This month, Black Mental Avenue is creating space for honest conversations about men’s mental health. Not just survival, but healing. Not just strength, but support.

We invite you to listen, learn, share, and show up for the men in your life and for yourself.

Because checking in is strength.
Asking for help is strength.
Healing is strength.

Trauma doesn’t always come from one major moment. Sometimes it comes from constantly having to survive, stay alert, or carry things alone.Healing looks different for everyone, but you don’t have to navigate it by yourself.

This week’s spotlight highlights clinicians who provide trauma-informed care and create spaces where healing can happen safely.

Some people weren’t “too sensitive.”
They just learned early that conflict didn’t feel safe.

So now they shut down.
Over-explain.
Read the room too hard.
Brace for tension before it even arrives.

What looks like “being dramatic” or “doing too much” is often a nervous system trying to stay protected after living in survival mode for too long.

Healing isn’t just changing your thoughts.
It’s teaching your body that peace no longer has to feel unfamiliar.

Trauma sits on everyone differently.
But it doesn’t have to stay there.

This week we dove into the ins and out of anxiety. If any of these points resonated, I have a treat for you!! 🙃

One of my favorite things to hear is “I cant find a therapist that gets it”

The city is filled with people waiting and ready to support you!

And look what we have just for you!!! A whole slew of people that get it!
