Green Valentine Turns Over A New Leaf

Green Valentine was established in 2005 by Jeff Shell as an annual tree planting event in collaboration with the City of Houston Parks & Recreations Department, Trees for Houston and the Woodland Heights Civic Association. 10 years later - and hundreds of trees planted - the project has grown into a festival of events promoting our love of the environment wh

ile supporting local businesses, artists & craftsmen, environmental ambassadors, music, food and the the charities we adore. For more information, visit the temporary website, www.greenvalentine.org. Website updated by January 2015 with more details.

🌳✨ 20 years ago, I adopted this park and greenbelt, and here’s a photo from the very beginning. Do you see those large trees? Sadly, we lost them to drought—but many of the trees I planted are still thriving, and the park has been completely transformed. 🌿💚

This is part of my legacy, and I’m proud of it. Watching this space grow and flourish over two decades has been a reminder that small efforts can lead to lasting change.

What are you proud of? What is your legacy? Let’s keep planting, growing, and making an impact together! 🌎🌱
