Garett “Hero” Hall
The GCH Hero Foundation, Inc. was created to provide lasting family memories through art, photographs and day trips with family and friends and many other things. All of which are provided at no cost to the families of these amazing children. The GCH Hero Foundation, Inc was created in honor of Garett “Hero” Hall. Garett was diagnosed in May 2010 with Diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG). Garett was 4 years old when he was diagnosed. With the life expectancy of 6 months to 18 months. Garett went through 45 rounds of radiation. During Garett’s fight, his love for art and trips to the Beach, zoo, aquarium, fire stations, police stations, Shopping, Children’s museum and many other places helped keep him busy and provided lasting memories for his family. These things would not have been possible without donations from family and friends. Garett’s love for life and huge smile inspired many people. Garett was a true hero, with a servant’s heart. He wanted to be a soldier, firefighter, and peace officer when he grew up. Some of his greatest accomplishments included playing baseball and the great opportunity to be a Boy Scout. Sadly, Garett passed away on June 23rd, 2011. From this tragic loss came the GCH Hero Foundation, Inc whose goal is to provide families of terminally ill and special needs children with these same types of memories.
