The Realty New Report today reported on dozens of developers from around the country who have responded to the Astrodome Conservancy’s Request for Information (RFI). Editor Ralph Bivins says that parties are making inquiries and exploring options for redeveloping the historic Astrodome. The response has been strong, with more than 200 responses for across the nation.

The RFI process followed a directive from Commissioner’s Court earlier this year for the Astrodome Conservancy to solicit private money and developers interested in repurposing Houston’s most famous icon. Read the article at realtynewsreport.com. Stay tuned!

Hey cowboys from the 80’s, y’all look great in the Astrodome. Could you ever imagine that in 2026 the Rodeo leadership wants to tear down the ‘Dome? They could just reuse those 9 acres right in the middle of the park, we know they need more room! Why do they want to tear down their old home and Houston’s most famous building? Really, why?

Howdy cowboys and cowgirls! Glad it’s Rodeo time again, but why won’t the Rodeo leadership let us get back in the Astrodome? Wouldn’t that be awesome? The Rodeo could sure use those 9 acres to get all those people out of the Texas heat. They could put all sorts of things in the Dome, kids livestock shows, petting zoo, pig races - well everything they do in their old outdated arena now. Why do they want to tear down Houston’s sentimental and architectural landmark? Put some restaurants and live music in there and we’d come over all year long! Houston loves the Astrodome. Let us back in. Just say the word Rodeo and it can happen.

Opening Day Rodeo Parade in the Astrodome in the 80’s. Why does the leadership Rodeo leadership want to tear down the Astrodome? Really, why? There is so much opportunity to make it a vibrant, fun part of the Rodeo again. So many people come to the Rodeo that they desperately need more space. Just reopen those 9 acres right in the middle and they can use it for steer auctions, kids’ livestock shows, pig races, petting zoos, all sorts of things, and let’s put the restaurants, booths and retail in there and get them out of the boiling sun like yesterday when it was 85 degrees. Seems like a no-brainer.

Welcome back Our favorite time of the year! We love the Rodeo, with its focus on Texas heritage and way of life, mixed with top current musical acts, food and drink and family fun. So why does the Rodeo leadership want to get rid of the Astrodome? We helped you grow into what you are today, and so much Rodeo history took place inside the Dome. You could use it again, it would be the perfect spot for so many of your activities, and could replace your current Arena inside a world-renowned, already famous, Texas protected landmark that would be an incredible landmark for you and make us all so proud! It can be done. The world is watching. Please reconsider your anti-Dome position. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 We can work together!
