Edukos Honey Years ago I began donating money through my church to send children to school in Rwanda. I realized that more help was needed. Edukos is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit

We have begun to raise bees and sell local raw honey. All proceeds help pay children's tuition.

This is what became of our wax cappings from yesterday. I use a paint strainer bag that goes in a 5 gallon bucket and poured that boiling wax with all of the debris into the strainer bag. The wax and the water end up in the bucket and all the "Slum gum" as its called remains in the bag which is suspended above the level of the hot water and wax in the bucket and then I carefully squeeze the bag to get more wax out of it. I put a piece of cardboard that I have over top of the bucket so it cools slowly as not to crack and then today I dumped it all out and this is what we get.
This is approximately 10 lb and I will place it on a shelf with the other blocks that I have and use it at a later date. Have a great weekend and I anticipate having the honey stand set up in a couple weeks. Until then feel free to visit the retailers here locally in League City that carry our honey. The cinnamon cream honey can be found at "The kolache bakery" on fm 518/ East main Street League City Texas.

What in the world are we cooking on a late Friday afternoon??? Some folks boil up shrimp or crawfish perhaps even parboil some chicken to throw on the grill for a fine supper after a hard weeks worth of work. This is a nice gentle boil of wax cappings. After we drain the cappings for about 4 or 5 days stirring them occasionally in our uncapping tank, I then take what's left and put out for the bees to get as much residual honey as they can from the cappings. Wax cappings are exactly as they sound. When a bee is done filling the cell with honey and the moisture content is right they put beeswax over the tops of the cells. During the extraction process I remove all these caps with a very sharp serrated knife. I then extract our honey and this can become candles, lip balms, and hand cream stuff.
The cappings are placed in a pot with some water in it and brought to a boil to separate the wax from all the other impurities and then strained through a fine mesh filter bag. I will keep you posted as we go so you can see a little bit more of our process. A lot of times folks don't know where stuff came from hundreds of years ago and how some folks still make it nowadays by homesteaders and small-time folks like me.

Well here we are y'all, fall is upon us. With the daytime highs soon to be in the mid to upper 90s and that crisp low humidity it almost feels like time to put on a hoodie and perhaps a pair of gloves for the morning commute to work. If you're thinking that's crazy then you'd be correct. As you can see by the image we're going nuts!!! I've only got a couple jars left and I will set them on the table in the morning and they will be first come first serve. I'm waiting on a new batch of jars to come in and then I will draw up some more for our retailers and the October sales at the stand. These are Texas pecan halves in our very own local honey. I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow, have a great night and thank you again so very much for all you do for us.

Ellie Mae is telling the world in her own little way at the honey stand will be open this Saturday.

What in the world is Ellie Mae going on about now. Her voice is really high pitched, kind of like to the point where you cannot hear her but to the well-trained ear what she is saying is..."The honey stand will be open this Saturday". September 19th around 8:00 in the morning I should be up and running. I will be in our usual spot in front of Bay harbor United Methodist Church at the corners of FM 518 and South shore here in League City Texas. I plan to be there from around 8:00 in the morning until 2:00 or 3:00 in the afternoon if the weather holds. I will be bringing our standard bottles as well as the glass jars that everyone liked so much last time. I will also have the cinnamon creamed honey available. If you are a mead maker or no one that is looking for local honey we can definitely help them out with sourcing. Thank y'all again so much for your support.

Hey y'all, at The "kolache bakery" right there on East FM 518 across from Shipley's now have our cinnamon creamed honey for the same great low price of 10 bucks a jar. I brought Miss Taylor 8 jars to start with but I'm sure they will be gone relatively quick. Their bakery is a local mom and pop outfit and has all sorts of tasty stuff available. We have been selling our local runny honey there for over a year now with great success. The creamed honey is kept in the cooler because as you can imagine the bakery gets quite warm from time to time. I forgot to bring her a sample jar for those that don't know about it yet but I will get one to her soon.
Thank you all so very much for helping us to be able to help others. We are continuing to raise funds for the school supply needs for local children as well as our mission work and Rwanda.

We are going to build a spiritual development center. I need your help again. This is our link to allow you to donate to the new "spiritual development center" which will be located in conjunction with the school that we have built and the children that we feed and the message of Hope love and patience that we are teaching. Why am I calling this a spiritual development center. Because that's what it is. As you can imagine I need to keep the optics of this mission work very "A political" and I cater to all walks of life. Whether you are a Luddite or one of the Sanhedrin and no matter whether you are Jew, christian, Muslim, Buddhist, doorknob worshiper or even window licker. For those of you that can remember the blues Brothers movie.... "We are on a mission from God".
We already have the property and the pastor is soon to be graduated from seminary college and will be the man overseeing all aspects of the school and the school programs and our spiritual development center.
You and I have been down this road before and I am sure that this is just one of many roads that we will travel together. Once again, thank you for all your support through the years and don't mind any spelling errors please as my battery is dying on my darn phone. Sincerely, Jay Feldt/ Edukos

Good afternoon and happy Sunday everyone. Once again we have been able to provide all of these children and many more like them with a roof over their head while they attend school proper desks to sit in and also a nutritious and hot meal to eat. I look forward to seeing y'all in a couple weeks when I set up the honey stand again. See you then.

Good morning y'all. This is basically what it felt like yesterday at the honey stand. I personally feel it was well worth it and would do it all over again because with your help we are closer to our goal for the month. It seems that the addition of glass jars to our lineup was well accepted and appreciated by many. Many folks seem to be concerned about microplastics and we will continue carrying them. Thank y'all again for all your support and especially the donations.
