Ad Deum Dance Company is a professional Houston based modern/contemporary dance company founded in 1994 by Artistic Director, Randall Flinn. The mission of Ad Deum is founded upon the belief that dance can uphold the transcendent virtues of the good, true, and beautiful, serving as a redemptive offering that can deeply touch and even heal the human body, soul, and spirit. Ad Deum has sown the seed
s of their artistry into the fabric of the greater Houston, national, and international cultural landscapes. They have toured throughout Europe, Asia, The Middle East, Mexico, Australia, Canada and across the USA. Ad Deum has performed at the request of the Mexican, French, and Malaysian government’s ministries of culture. The company has served alongside the Alvin Ailey Educational Outreach in collaboration with SPA Houston. In Texas alone, Ad Deum has performed for Texas Weekend of Contemporary Dance, Bailando Dance Festival, Houston Choreographers X’s 6, Dance of Asian American, Dance Houston, Dancescape, Barnstorm, Artists For Hope, Mind The Gap, Houston Contemporary Dance Festival, Project Dance Houston, and Dance Gallery Festival. Our educational and outreach programs have provided yearly free dance performances for MD Anderson, Texas Children’s, Ronald McDonald House, senior homes, public schools and community outreaches. Ad Deum has performed works choreographed by principal artists of Ailey, Graham, Limon, Mark Morris, Doug Varone, Complexions and Houston Ballet, regularly bringing world class dancers and choreographers to Houston and sharing them with the dance community. Randall Flinn is the founder and artistic director for Ad Deum Dance Company, serving in this capacity for over three decades. Randall is a native Houstonian who began his formative dance education with Discovery Dance Group, Glen Hunsucker, Dina Vail, Jan Simonds, and Houston Ballet Academy, He has served locally as a guest modern dance educator and choreographer for Houston Ballet Academy, HSPVA, University of Houston, Houston Met Dance Company, Revolve Dance Company, Vittaca Youth Dancers, The Episopal High School, St. John’s, HISD and Alief Dance Programs, Dance Du Coeur, and for SPA educational outreach. His choreographic works have been commissioned and presented at The Alvin Ailey Citi Corp Theatre, Gelsey Kirkland Arts Center, Project Dance Paris, London, NYC, Los Angeles, and Sydney, French Consulate of Houston, Dance Salad Festival, Dance Gallery Festival NYC, Xaris Tanz Europe, Ministry of Culture of Mexico, Laois Dance Platform In Ireland, Overflow Dance Festival Paris, Ballet Magnfiicat, Storling Dance Theatre and solo work for Alicia Graf Mack - Dance Director of Julliard School.. Flinn has also served as a master dance educator for Cirque Du Soleil, Hong Kong Ballet, Guangzhou Modern Dance Company, Vassar University, Belhaven University, Palm Beach Atlantic University, American College Dance Festival, and University of The Nations Hawaii.
