The Village Connect Connecting organizations and individuals to create the Village needed to light a path towards stability and independence.

The Village Connect is a non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating chronic poverty by helping families and individuals break the cycle of homelessness in Houston, TX. We are a growing network of consultants, ministers, public health administrators, and other professionals working to provide personalized and comprehensive care for Houston's homeless.

Did you know that The Village Connect team is working hard to understand barriers to stability for the homeless in Houston? Led by students in parallel with their studies, these teams investigate obstacles that make it difficult for an individual and their family to access the housing, education, or healthcare that they need. We have been working hard to understand how to help our fellow Houstonians facing homelessness. For the last 3 months we have had young interns across 4 universities come together to identify the challenges a homeless individual faces while seeking mental health services. At the Health and Housing Summit this year hosted by , our students proudly presented their work on this topic. With your support we hope to continue to provide these opportunities to our young leaders as they continue to research and innovate new solutions for our homeless population. This is the face of our new mental health initiative called “Mental Health First and For All”! We are extremely excited to host these students who represent 4 different universities! Their internship will culminate into a research poster where they will propose new solutions to addressing gaps in mental health services for the homeless community. On our journey to help others, we meet some remarkable people along the way. Keith is a stellar example of this. We met Keith accidentally in a Starbucks and his vision and heart for helping the homeless immediately brought us together. Today we are grieving the loss of an incredible man, community partner, and dear friend. Keith’s loss is so sudden and weighs heavy on our hearts. We will continue to honor his legacy and are committed more than ever to realize his dream for a system that will provide economic and housing opportunities for all. Please keep him, his family, and his dear friends and colleagues in your prayers. Thank you for joining us in celebrating Keith Kriegler! 🙂🙏❤️
