Currently, our group is made up from survivors of Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI), strokes, aneurisms and even includes a recent catastrophically wounded war veteran. We at BABISG take great pride in helping to transform brain injury victims into affective community involved survivors. Our objective is to provide a friendly social outlet for all types of brain injury survivors and their families/ca
regivers. In doing this, we provide a comfortable atmosphere for;
• Sharing each other’s stories
• Discussing what goals we have accomplished in the last month and how we have improved our physical and/or cognitive challenges
• Set new goals for next month
• Listen to motivating and/or inspirational guest speakers on key topics
• Receive educationally informative presentations about what we can do to improve our health and overall lifestyle. We are actively seeking donations to help us reach our goals to provide;
1) Substantial meeting refreshments. (Because we meet at 6:30pm, it would be nice if we could provide small sandwiches, chips and such.)
2) BABISG paid for quarterly group “dinner meetings” at local restaurants.
3) Biannual group outings (I.e. Houston Zoo, Battleship Texas, Galveston’s Moody gardens, the flight museum, etc.)
4) Transportation needs for non-driving survivors to be transported to the meetings.
5) Transportation for group outings.
6) Paid for professional speakers (We have run out of volunteer speakers)
7) Informational brain injury handout printed materials
8) Marketing materials for new survivor and/or caregiver group members
9) Marketing materials for acquiring potential BABISG donation contributors
10) Group members and guests BABISG imprinted marketing materials (i.e.; “I can, I will, DONE” t-shirts, mugs, etc.)
11) Financial assistance needs so that BABISG can help group members with non-insurance covered specialized therapeutic needs (i.e.; hyperbaric treatments).
