Police have identified the gunman as 31-year-old Shamar Elkins, who officials say carried out the deadly attack early killing 8 children Sunday morning across multiple locations in Shreveport, LA. The victims ranged in age from about 1to 14 years old in what was reportedly a domestic situation.
Authorities say seven of the eight children killed were Elkins' own. Two women were also shot during the incident, with at least one reported to be in critical condition.
Elkins who carjacked a car to get away was reportedly fatally shot by police.
