It is with the deepest sadness that we must, again, cancel this year’s Gala given the increased numbers of COVID-19 infections in our city. We could not, in good conscience, continue with our Gala knowing the risks involved to our community. Canceling this gala is devastating to us given all the time and effort put forth, but even more so for Hope’s children who depend upon the funds raised by this gala.
The situation in India is dire, but as the country prepares to reopen, we feel the needs of these many children will increase significantly. Given the number of COVID-19 deaths, many children who were in need before the pandemic will likely be in much worse situations given the loss of family members or caregivers. It is our hope that our family of supporters will continue to contribute to these children as they navigate a pandemic as well as the tragic conditions of homelessness and poverty. As desperate and disheartening as this sounds, we are looking forward to a future where many more children can come to our facilities for help, guidance, medical care, and a home filled with love, kindness, and compassion. In this time of increased hardship, if you are able, please consider an additional donation.
In closing, we would like to thank all of you for your continued support of our children, we wish you and your families peace and safety while navigating this very stressful time in our community. Please let us know if you would like to introduce us to newly interested advocates for our children; we are happy to set up social distancing or online meetings to discuss opportunities.
