Being seated with Christ in Heavenly Places, speaks of identity, authority, rest, and perspective. It doesn’t mean painful things never reach our lives emotionally. It means they do not have to rule us, define us, or pull us out of our position in Christ! Get a hold of this.
When you know where you are seated, you don’t have to come down from that place to wrestle with everything happening beneath you.
When you are seated in heavenly places:
* Offense may come, but you don’t have to pick it up.
* Rejection may hurt, but it cannot change the truth that you are chosen and accepted in Christ.
* Criticism may be spoken, but it doesn’t get to determine your identity.
* Gossip and slander may circulate, but you don’t have to chase every lie or defend yourself to everyone.
* Jealousy from others doesn’t require you to shrink, compete, or prove yourself.
* Misunderstanding doesn’t mean you have to exhaust yourself trying to make everyone understand you.
* Provocation doesn’t have to produce a reaction. You can remain governed by the Spirit.
* Fear may knock, but it doesn’t have authority to occupy the seat where faith belongs.
* Anxiety may try to pull your attention downward, but you can bring your mind back to the One you are seated with.
* Comparison loses its power when you know who you are and what God has called you to do.
* Bitterness cannot take root when you continually surrender wounds to Jesus and choose forgiveness.
* The need for man’s approval begins to lose its grip because your identity is already settled in Christ.
* Spiritual warfare looks different from this position. You’re not fighting for victory as though Jesus hasn’t won—you are standing in what Christ has already accomplished.
The use of the word seated is so powerful!
You’re not frantic.
You’re not scrambling for position.
You’re not fighting for a seat at somebody else’s table.
God already gave you one.
Ephesians goes on to say that Christ is seated “far above all principality and power and might and dominion” (Ephesians 1:21). Then Paul tells us that God has seated us with Him (Ephesians 2:6).
So when the enemy’s schemes attempt to pull you into offense, retaliation, insecurity, fear, comparison, or the need to prove yourself, you can remember:
I don’t have to come down from where God seated me to fight something He has already placed beneath Christ’s feet.
That doesn’t mean ignoring problems or refusing healthy boundaries. It means addressing them from peace instead of panic, from identity instead of insecurity, and from spiritual authority instead of emotional reaction. Hallelujah! Can I get an amen!?
Stay seated. Stay surrendered.
Some battles are won simply by refusing to leave the place of peace, identity, and authority Christ has already given you!
