This week we’ve shared the incredible story of Baby Penny in our Stories of Hope series. Because of your donations we are able to help people in emergent situations.
To provide a recap, in February of this year, our rescue team in Kenya received an emergency call from the authorities regarding a woman with mental health issues who had just given birth beside a river. Concerned witnessed called because they heard the woman screaming.
Our rescue team, led by Dancun, took the woman, who was only 17 years old, and her baby to the hospital where they both tested positive for HIV. They received care and were able to be discharged. The mother experienced significant challenges that prevented her from being able to provide for her baby, therefore she asked if Generation of Hope could step in. Our team brought the baby to our Generation of Hope children’s home where she is well cared for and developing well! In honor of her rescue, the mother asked that we name the baby. It was lovingly decided that she’d be named Penny, after the founder of Generation of Hope, Penny Williams ❤️
Baby Penny is thriving in our children’s home but she will continue to need ongoing support and care. You can partner with us by sending a donation to our website at: www.GenerationOfHope.com/donate
Be sure to note in the comments that your donation is for baby Penny and we will be sure to allocate those funds for her. Thank you for your support!
