Pratham Young Professionals Houston Pratham is the largest non-governmental organization working to provide a quality education to underprivileged children in rural and urban areas of India.

Established in 1994, Pratham’s mission is to insure “Every Child in School and Learning Well”. All our programs are designed to ensure that:
1.Enrollment in schools increases.
2.Learning in schools and communities increases.
3.The education net reaches children who are unable to attend school.
4.Models are replicated and scaled up to serve large numbers of children to achieve a large scale impact


Pratham has also become a powerful voice in the area of educational reform. Pratham's Annual Status of Education Report (ASER), supported by Google.org, evaluates India's status of education through direct testing of over 700,000 children in 16,000 villages across India. ASER is the only annual measurement of basic literacy and numeracy conducted at scale in India today and its widespread dissemination has helped to focus government attention on the issue of learning.
