Breaking Chains Making Amends Foundation-BCMA Our Vision

BCMA provides life-changing resources to the children and grandchildren of the incarcerat

The scholarship restores hope for victims of crime by providing scholarship funding for children and grandchildren of offenders confined to TDCJ and children and grandchildren of crime victims. The funds received for the scholarship program will provide assistance for higher education or vocational training to the cost of tuition and fees, textbooks and other necessary items or support required fo

r educational and/or training advancement. The offenders participation is greatly encouraged to afford offenders the opportunity to give back to society. TDCJ is making historical strives, by allowing offenders to donate into the scholarship program of their children and grandchildren to break the cycle of the commission of crimes. Therefore, offenders can donate monthly a portion of their commissary as a contribution toward higher education. This will have a grand effect on the betterment of society. The scholarship program has a two-fold advantage of improvement of life for offenders to transform their thinking from takers to givers (repentance/recompense), while assisting the future generations with opportunities to have a better existence of life.
