South Central Shooters Club (SCSC)

South Central Shooters Club (SCSC) We formed in fall of 2005 at T.I.G.E.R. was led by Dr. McCann. One in the Spring
and one in the fall.

Valley outside Waco,TX-T.J.Pilling was
instrumental in forming the SCSC.About 10 shooters attended the first match
and the decision to form a club was made there under the closest thing we could
call a shadetree. After forming the club at T.I.G.E.R.Valley in Waco and enjoying years of bi-annual
matches with world records were set by Dr.Bryan McCann the push to move to
Long Range Alley -south o

f Shreveport, La. And while
has not shot as well since the move, he is closer to home. The membership has
grown to over 150 shooters from more than 11 states and 3 countries. Two
matches each year are held and sanctioned by the FCSA. All Matches are known as 1000 Yard Shadow in honor of the late
great Skip Talbot who was Past President of the FCSA and died at the World
Champianship in 2005 while presiding over it.

We had a great match at Shreveport last weekend. Many thanks to Ed George , our match director for another good weekend.
The wind blew all weekend creating some issues, but Craig Martin figured it out for the two gun win and two screamers.
Non stop action, except for Don Herzberg.

IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT SHREVEPORT MATCH Date change for the Match

Long Range Alley has 3 wells that are in the process of fracking. With this work the 1000 yard range is shut down till the fracking is complete. At this time the completion date is unknown. It is 15 days till the March Match and there is no defining date when the fracking will be complete. The range roads are not usable at this time.

I have talked with Rick at the range and there is another open date in April.

April 23,24,25, 2021 will be the new date for the "Spring Match" due to the well drilling that has the 1000 yard range closed. I will need help communicating this change in the Match dates to all the SCSC and FCSA folks that may want to come to the Match. Sorry for the late notice. I had hopes the fracking would be finished.

Best Regards,

Edward George

Hello All;
We just finished a great Spring match at Shreveport, with Steve Blake taking two gun, off the ground no less.
Great shooting Steve.

We are kicking around some changes to the Practical and Semi_ Auto events to increase participation.

1, dropping the entry fee to $25, with each competitor providing their own ammo. We would like your feedback as to whether this would increase interest.
If so, would you prefer limiting it to ball, or would you prefer to allow match ammo?

2, opening it up to a .338 and above, with a separate class.

3, changing the time limits on the semi to 3 minutes for 15 rounds, and 5-7 minutes for the bolt guys.

We are proud to announce the results of the fundraiser for the Ritarita Family.

As you know, our FCSA family was devastated when the Ritarita family suffered the tragic loss of their son and brother Timmy.

Many of you stepped up to offer support to this great family in so many ways, and a fundraiser was discussed.

The ARMALITE company stepped up and most generously offered an AR50 rifle as a donation to the cause.

Donations poured in from our .50 community, and the response was overwhelming.

The drawing was held and Alex Cordesman, a long time FCSA member was the winner.

More importantly, we raised many thousands of dollars for a great cause.

The family is very thankful for your support.

Comgratulations to Alex, and a heartfelt thanks to Armalite for their continued support of the FCSA.

David Griffith, past President FCSA and SCSC
