In Her Corner Foundation is looking for a Volunteer Program Assistant to help support our after-school enrichment program for young girls at Harvard Elementary in the Houston Heights.

You’ll assist with monthly activities, prepare and deliver supplies, and help create a welcoming space for girls to connect and grow.

A great fit for college women in their junior or senior year looking for hands-on nonprofit experience! Reliable transportation is needed, and monthly Wednesday afternoon availability is preferred.

✨ Unpaid volunteer role with documented volunteer hours.

In Her Corner started with one simple belief, every girl deserves to have someone in her corner.

Someone who listens.
Someone who reminds her of what she is capable of.
Someone who helps her see possibilities she may not see yet.

For our founder, Scarlet Rodriguez, that belief became a mission.

She created In Her Corner to give girls the mentorship, community, and support they need to grow with confidence and know they do not have to figure everything out alone.

Because sometimes, one person believing in you can change what you believe is possible for yourself.

This is why In Her Corner exists.

In Her Corner is a nonprofit built around a simple belief, every girl deserves someone in her corner.

We connect girls ages 8 to 18 with mentorship, meaningful experiences, and a community that encourages them to grow in confidence, discover what is possible, and feel supported along the way.

Because confidence does not always start with having all the answers.

Sometimes, it starts with having someone who believes in you.

There are moments in history that change us forever.

September 11 was one of those moments.

It reminded us that life can change in an instant. It showed us unimaginable loss, but it also revealed something stronger. Ordinary people choosing courage. Strangers choosing kindness. Communities choosing each other.

The legacy of that day is not only found in what we lost, but in how we chose to move forward together.

At In Her Corner Foundation, we believe that every act of compassion, every lesson in empathy, and every young girl who learns to lead with courage helps build the kind of future we all deserve.

Today, we remember those we lost. We honor those who served. And we choose to carry their legacy forward through the way we care for one another.

We will never forget.
