A big round of applause for Angela Leggett on purchasing her new home! 🏡👏

For more than 30 years, Ms. Leggett’s husband, Charles, faithfully served at the Texas A&M Vet School. We are deeply grateful for his years of dedication and the lasting impact he made.

Since then, she has remained actively involved with REACH, participated in Mays Business School Marketing Research Project, opened her own storefront in College Station called “The Great Escape”, and successfully completed our homeownership program.

Today, we celebrate another incredible milestone—homeownership! We are so proud of Ms. Leggett’s perseverance, resilience, and commitment to building a brighter future. Her journey is an inspiration, and we are honored to support her continued success and the positive impact she has on our community.

We are proud to introduce the 2026–2027 REACH Fellowship Cohort! 🎉

This fellowship was thoughtfully developed by our Special Projects Director, Jasmine Carey, alongside members of the REACH team to provide Texas A&M students with meaningful, hands-on experience serving the community. Through this program, our fellows will gain critical professional and soft skills, build relationships with Essential Aggies, support major programs and events, and make a lasting impact through service.

This year’s cohort is made up of exceptional Texas A&M students representing majors in business, communications, public health, and more. They have a genuine passion for serving others and a commitment to strengthening our community alongside the REACH team💚

✨Fellow Highlight with Jason Joseph! ✨

We're excited to celebrate REACH Fellow Jason Joseph and his recent opportunity to participate in a workshop hosted by the NIH (National Institutes of Health) All of Us Research Program at New York University.

As a doctoral student in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Texas A&M University, Jason collaborated with researchers from across the country while presenting a project focused on sleep and dementia using data from the All of Us Research Program. Reflecting on the experience, Jason shared that it was an honor to present his team's work and connect with fellow scholars who are passionate about improving health through research.

At REACH, we know that strong communities are built by leaders who are committed to learning, collaboration, and service. Experiences like this deepen our Fellows' understanding of the complex factors that influence community health while strengthening the leadership, critical thinking, and relationship-building skills they bring back to the families and communities they serve.

We're proud to have Jason as part of the REACH Fellowship and are excited to see how he continues applying his knowledge and passion to his work supporting REACH's family engagement efforts. Congratulations, Jason!👏💚

We're incredibly proud of our Student Outreach and Partnership Director, Caitlin Zimmerman, for successfully completing her internship at the Houston Zoo! 🦒🎉

As a Philanthropy Intern, Caitlin gained hands-on experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, donor stewardship, and relationship-building while applying what she's learning through the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University in a real-world nonprofit setting. From annual giving to donor stewardship, she strengthened the skills needed to build meaningful, lasting community partnerships.

At REACH, strong relationships are the heart of our mission. Caitlin's experience will strengthen our work cultivating community partnerships, engaging students, expanding philanthropic initiatives, and creating opportunities that empower individuals and strengthen our community.
We're especially excited to see her bring these new insights to her role at REACH, including support for our partnership and philanthropy efforts!

Congratulations to Jamie Jeffers, a graduate of REACH's most recent Entrepreneurship Program (EJP) cohort!👏

Jamie launched Cloud 9 Events in 2022 with just three yard games and a vision for creating memorable celebrations. During her battle with Stage 2 breast cancer in 2023, she continued investing in her business by developing an online booking system and expanding her party rental offerings. Her determination and resilience helped position Cloud 9 Events for continued growth.

Since then, Jamie has continued to grow her business by adding concession machines, expanding into catering and vending, and most recently launching a concession trailer. Today, Cloud 9 Events serves markets, private events, festivals, and programs throughout our community.

We are incredibly proud of all that Jamie has accomplished and grateful to have been part of her entrepreneurial journey. We can't wait to see what comes next for Cloud 9 Events! 💚💚

He is a public service professional originally from San Marcos, Texas. His journey began at the University of North Texas, where he was introduced to the nonprofit field through a certificate in Volunteer and Community Resource Management. Falling in love with the impact of the work, Corey was inspired to deepen his expertise, completing a Master of Public Service and Administration at The Bush School of Government & Public Service at Texas A&M University.

Congratulations to the Floyd Family on purchasing their new home! 🏠🙌

The Floyd Family has generously given their time to REACH over the years, serving on our Community Leaders Board and making a lasting impact on our organization. Mr. & Mrs. Floyd is an Essential Aggie, who has played an important role in the evolution of REACH. This includes the Break Room Lunch Initiative, which is a signature program for REACH.

Years ago, while Mr. Floyd was working as a custodian at Texas A&M College of Architecture when students named McKenzie Porter and Logan Miertschin noticed that he wasn't acting like himself during one of the Break Room lunches.

Concerned for his well-being, they made sure he received the medical care he needed. Throughout his journey, McKenzie, Logan, and the entire REACH family stood faithfully by his side. Watch their story here: https://youtu.be/MIDk0KBatjI?feature=shared

Fast forward a few years, the Floyd Family has fully recovered and returned to Texas A&M University and SSC at TAMU. Eventually participating in REACH’s homeownership program, and today, they are proud homeowners!

Their story is a beautiful reminder of what can happen when a campus community comes together with compassion, generosity, and unwavering support.
