CHRISTIANS: WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT VOTING.

Christians make up 62% of American adults, according to Pew Research’s 2023–24 study, published in February 2025. Yet George Barna’s November 2024 research found that only 56% of voting-age Christians voted in that presidential election. Forty-four percent did not.

Nearly half left the decisions to others.

Christians are a majority. But numbers alone do not influence an election. We must vote—and bring biblical principles into our choices.

How do we talk about that with another Christian? How do we begin a conversation with a pastor when civic responsibility isn’t being addressed?

How we respond in anger matters—especially with those closest to us.

A gentle answer can take strength, especially when you feel frustrated or misunderstood. As followers of Christ, we can bring that frustration to Him and depend on His Spirit to grow in patience and self-control.

When tension rises today, pause. Pray. Choose words that speak the Truth with grace.

Father,

Help us slow down enough to notice where You are leading. Give us discernment when the right path is not obvious, patience when answers do not come quickly, and courage when obedience requires us to move before we feel fully ready.

Remove what has made our hearts dull. Break our dependence on distraction, comfort, approval, and control.

Make us men who are steady when circumstances change, generous when others are in need, and faithful in the responsibilities You have already placed in our hands.

Help us become more intentional with our time, more careful with our words, and more aware of the people around us who need encouragement, wisdom, or practical help.

Where we have become complacent, wake us up.
Where we have become prideful, humble us.
Where we have become discouraged, strengthen us.
Where we have been avoiding obedience, give us the courage to act.

May October be a month in which we do not simply become busier, but wiser, more faithful, and more useful for Your purposes.
