Houston DanceSport Meetup The official Facebook fan page of Houston DanceSport Meetup, part of the Dance Posse family. All levels are welcome and no partner is needed!

FOUNDED: May 30, 2012

MISSION: To promote the artistic expression of and preserve Ballroom & Latin Dancing, and to promote the activity in competitive form in the Houston metropolitan area. This fan page is an extension of the former Meetup group of the same name promoting local dance events and general news in the ballroom and Latin world. Our group is focusing more on the International Style alongside the American Style, we'll learn a variety of traditional ballroom dances like the waltz, tango, foxtrot, Viennese waltz, quickstep, rumba, cha-cha, jive, samba and paso doble and practice at socials at area dance studios whether if you want to dance just for the pleasurable social activity, or prepare for (or just watch) competitions or performances! We sometimes do other partner dance styles, like Lindy Hop, salsa and Argentine tango. Serving the southwest and inner-loop areas, as well as outlaying areas like League City, Sugar Land and The Woodlands. In-person gatherings are not currently being held due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
