Join H-Town AAHGS for an inspiring Black History Month symposium with the theme, "Rooted in Freedom. Uplifting the Stories of Our Ancestors" that centers land, legacy, and community power. Hear about the impactful work of the Pecan Project and its mission to preserve Black-owned farms and rural heritage. Enjoy the remarkable adventures of Lee Perry, an Oil & Gas Auditor who helped Black families reclaim their homesteads and protect generational land. The day will also feature a special community screening of the documentary High Horse: The Black Cowboy, followed by an engaging debriefing session with the High Horse cast of descendant farmers and series producers. This symposium promises powerful stories, meaningful dialogue, and practical insight—mark your calendar and plan to be part of this unforgettable experience!
