The GILAR Center, Inc.

The GILAR Center, Inc. Global Interactive Learning and Resources Center, Inc. is a non profit dedicated to educating youths on computer science and life skills.

The GILAR Center, Inc is a public 501c3, with support from the general public. Founded initially by D'Niele Meade and Ret. Dorothy V McIntosh in 2011 as a summer program held at local elementary schools and universities in the United States Virgins Islands. We wanted to foster an interactive and safe learning environments for our constituents. Since inception we've been overwhelmed by the children

's desire to learn more about computer science and the life skills courses we offer. Our goals include:
-Increasing the representation of women and minority students in the STEM industry.
-Foster a learning environment where every child no matter race or abilities would be respected and valued.
-Increase the number of students perusing STEM careers by 20% within 5 years.
-To increase awareness of computer science in 21st Century by incorporating policies within local Government and Congress to implement computer science as requirement course.
