Our Mental Health & Student Wellness team would like to congratulate Heather Watson Rowland for winning School Counselor of the Year, Cream Of The Crop 2026!

Heather brings 23 years in education to the district (which is exceptional, considering she’s only 27 😜). She is a certified school counselor. But she also holds a professional counseling license which required a three year Masters program, the NCE national exam, and THREE THOUSAND hours of licensed supervision before she received her LPC. Truly a wealth a knowledge in the field.

Heather would like everyone to know how much she has absolutely loved working with the students, staff and community.
“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life". ❤️❤️❤️

Huffman Community:
NOBODY thinks it can happen to them,…..until it does. Nobody wants to talk about it,….until it happens. And, nobody wants to listen,….until it’s someone they know.
PLEASE don’t wait until it’s someone you know! NO parent should have to wake up with the indescribable agony every day for the rest of their life.
Join our fight. The CDC estimates the final numbers for 2025 to be about 4,500 teen deaths in this manner. We need to work together to stop this!
