Don't miss the Lukasz Kuropaczeski concert Jan 31 at Emerson Unitarian. This is the full length program. The Bellaire high school varsity guitar ensemble will provide a lobby performance before the show at 7pm, so come early, as we are hearing they are in top form!

For those that missed the Friday night shorter concert at Lone Star College, OMG, where to start.... aside from technical perfection, this was one of the most musical renditions one could imagine, with superb phrasing and lyricism. The Dammann guitar was the perfect instrument in his hands with unbeatable projection and tone. Several Chopin transcriptions were featured, played with authenticity as Lukasz himself is Polish. The Llobet arrangements were the best I've heard. We were also treated to Tansman. After the show, we all went out for beer and pizza, and I learned that Lukasz was a Peabody graduate, who studied under none other than Manuel Barrueco. Not to be missed!!
