Our Story - Ending Trafficking & Restoring Lives via Empowerment

Hi, I'm Jennifer Loving, Founder of Freedom Restore. I wanted to take a moment to tell you a little bit about myself, welcome you to Freedom Restore, and thank you for taking the time to learn more about the horrors of human and s*x trafficking. I am a native Houstonian, currently residing in one of Houston's suburbs. I have two beautiful children (a 22-year old daughter and a 14-year old son) that are the joys of my life. God blessed me with a servant’s heart and a sensitive spirit, so I have always had a love and passion for people and helping others, especially those that seem helpless and hopeless! The first time I ever learned about s*x trafficking, I was at a women's retreat over ten years ago. As the lady spoke, my heart ached as I imagined the brokenness and terror these victims endured; their lives were forever changed. God immediately stirred my heart and softly spoke His calling into my spirit. I never acted upon God's call then, but the burning in my heart for this ministry never faded. God continued to stir within me a passion for this ministry. In January 2014, I began to seek where, how, and to what capacity God would have me serve in this ministry. I began praying about starting an anti-trafficking non-profit, doing research on the subject, and quickly started putting together a business plan. The statistics were overwhelming and the need for help was daunting!

As the next few years unfolded, one night it became abundantly clear why the timing was not right years ago. God knew the events that would lay before me and my family; He was preparing me through tragic events, relationships, as well as, professional and relational knowledge to have both the heart and head knowledge to be able to spearhead an anti-trafficking non-profit dedicated to walking along side survivors and their families in their transition from being in bo***ge to becoming the very best version of themselves, while also empowering them become financially independent via mentorship, job training, and job placement services. We all have a story, gifting’s, and a calling. God created us to love one another as He loved us. He created us to be servants and spread the good news. The Bible reads in Isaiah 61:1, “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, because The Lord has anointed me to proclaim the good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release darkness from the prisoners”. This scripture is the foundation that Freedom Restore is built upon. I love how God is so good that He is always faithful to complete the work He begins in each of us. The passions He places within each of children are not there by chance. I have learned in my own life and trials, that it is often through our greatest pain and suffering that God rises within us our God-given purpose and calling as we cling to Him. If you, a friend, or a loved one is going through a difficult season of life, or if you feel lost and like no one cares or sees your pain, be encouraged my friend for God sees you and He is with you! He has a perfect plan for your life and is using this season of your life to refine you. Trust Him for He is good and faithful. He is our Hope, Protector, Provider, and Fortress! God has taken me and my family through a journey I never thought we'd travel - one that no one would want to experience. A journey that at first seemed like a horrible nightmare, hopeless, unfair, and undeserved - one that made me question God's goodness and love. But thankfully God's word is truth and He is life; our circumstances do not change who He is! We can trust Him, even in our darkest hour. He has proven his faithfulness to me and my family time and time again. It is because of my own family's journey that I am so passionate about walking along side others in their darkest, most hopeless season of life. I hope you'll join me in this fight!
