This may look like a child's cute project wall in class. The reality is actually horrific. Nurses in hospitals around the country are being given a paper bag to use as 'storage' for their dirty masks after 12+ hour shifts. How is it possible that this is currently happening in our country, the "most powerful in the world"? It is completely unacceptable.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We received this picture from one of the hospitals that reached out to us desperately seeking PPE in whatever form they could get. While we are more than happy to provide homemade non-surgical masks to anyone that needs them, the reality is that many healthcare facilities are in dire need of medical N95 masks. Homemade cloth masks have become a temporary solution to a very serious problem. We need to help our healthcare workers! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In these last few days, the outpour of messages from doctors and nurses has brought us to literal tears. Making these masks, running our group and everything else this project entails takes lots of work on top of the day jobs we already have. However, getting messages from frontline workers thanking us for our donations makes it all worth it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is why we do what we do. To be there for the people who leave their families in order to help ours. To support the men and women who bravely put themselves in danger, risking their lives, for ours. We will always be there to help in any way we can until the end of this nightmare.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To all of you incredible people working against and in spite of this terrifying enemy, thank you and God bless you.

💫 A special shoutout to our amazing mask makers:

Please note: the names of the doctors and nurses have been deleted off the bags in order to protect their privacy.
