Who We Are?
A group of ophthalmologists mostly from the USA, Canada and Mexico. Founding members include: Dr. Davidian, Dr. Hopkins Dr. Miller and Dr. Cesar Puesan, together they built the first Eye Institute Mission (Northern Mexico) in 1991 to fulfill their personal goals of eradicating as much unnecessary blindness as possible for the poor.
Other Doctors joined the team in the mid 1990´s such as Dr. Pedro Gomez. Past Pioneer supporters include Dr. Howard V. Gimbel, Canadian ophthalmologist, & university professor. He is better known for his invention, along with Thomas Neuhann, of the continuous curvilinear capsulorhexis (CCC).3 DECADES LATER: The Eye Institutes throughout the country of Mexico alone reached well over 250,000 in 2018.
