I started this organization because of the obstacles I constantly faced. I always had a few people to help me. My struggle was real. I was homeless several times throughout my 20’s. I lived at the Star of Hope Transition Living at one point and I just could not get it together. Finally, after some time, I put a proven game plan together to help me get to this point that I am today. I complained, I was always disgruntled. I was never satisfied and never seem to find anything to satisfy me. God had then woken me up in the year of 2016. November 11,2016 started my life change. I was arrested on a Fugitive Warrant out of Brown County, TX. I counted 22 police officers to take me in on this warrant. They all had their weapons drawn and I thought to myself, well Lord this is it my purpose will not be fulfilled. My son’s dad pulled up in the nick of time. I was then handcuffed in front of my then 8 year old. I sat in jail and I cried every night until I was released. I had 3 felony charges. My first set of chargers was 2 counts of Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity 1st degree facing 99 years for each count. The 3rd charge out of Limestone County, TX was Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity Forgery 3rd degree. It was just me and God. I had no money the entire time I was there. My hair had turned mostly grey in the front and was falling out in patches. I went to court the day before my birthday May 16,2017 for Brown County my cases was dismissed. My entire stay and until this day I have my affirmations I wrote daily that said I WILL GO HOME ON 05.16.2020. I was a free woman from Brown County on that day, but not quite yet. I did not have to go to court for Limestone County my co-defendant could not identify me and a sworn statement was taken in the interview room. I was then a free woman on June 3rd. I hit the ground running looking for employment I then became employed with Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and that is a story all by its lonesome. I left my job mentally after I had my second son. I could not even picture myself there any longer. I was very unhappy, and I no longer cared. I am a single mother of two boys. I lost my husband in December of 2017 and I was two months pregnant at the time. I had hit rock bottom. Trying to balance daycare, rent, car note, and just the little day to day funding. My car had been repossessed I had no way out. I filed for bankruptcy on October 23rd,2019 and, I was laying on my living room floor when I said to myself there is really nothing out here to help middle- low class families. I cried out because my purpose had been established through pain, hurt, and anger. There is nothing to help strengthen us we are making life decisions trying to figure out if we are going to buy gas or groceries. You make too much for assistance but, not enough to get by. I found myself helping people even though I could not help myself. My passion has always been to help and assist people and now my passion has come to life. I am so grateful and proud to be able to uplift my community in any struggle they may have. It is time to stop watching one another struggle to make ends meet. I want to empower ones who are struggling like I am or have been through things like I have. I want persons to know that they are not alone and that there are people out here who care. I want to introduce to many my heart my company Empowerment².
