The Scouts BSA Test Lab Dance badge was released on November 7, 2025, and will run through November 1, 2026.

This pilot badge gives Scouts a chance to explore different dance styles, learn proper warm-up techniques, study notable dancers, and develop and perform their own routine.

The Test Lab is designed to help shape future merit badges. Scouts who complete the requirements provide feedback that helps determine whether the badge becomes official. If approved, completed Test Lab work still counts for full credit.

Any registered adult can work with Scouts on Test Lab badges, and a certificate of completion is awarded when requirements are finished.

Full details and requirements can be found here: https://www.scouting.org/skills/merit-badges/test-lab/dance/

This Earth Day, we’re proud to highlight the impact of the Scouting America Clean Waterways program.

Scouts across the country are protecting rivers, lakes, and streams through cleanups, education, and community partnerships. These efforts build lifelong habits of stewardship while making a real difference locally.

Small actions add up. Now is a great time for your unit to get involved and help keep our waterways clean.

Youth who are not registered in the unit may not accompany parents or siblings in camping programs of Scouts BSA*, Venturing, and Sea Scouting. Recruiting exception: When recruiting youth not registered in Scouting, they may attend a unit campout if eligible for registration in the unit. Commissioning is one of the most meaningful acts of service in Scouting. If you this sounds like something you would be interested in, please contact Bradley Harden or Connie Connie Beil Oubre.

Commissioners strengthen Scouting by providing reliable guidance and support that helps units succeed. They work with leaders to identify needs, share helpful strategies, connect units with resources, and encourage continuous improvement. From helping a pack restart meetings after a pause to supporting a troop as it plans high-adventure opportunities, commissioners are there to help units move forward.

For those who enjoy supporting volunteers, thinking through solutions, and building positive relationships, serving as a commissioner is a meaningful way to give back. It offers the opportunity to support both youth and adult leaders while making a lasting impact on the Scouting movement. Anyone interested in learning more is encouraged to contact their district commissioner.

Commissioners make a difference.
