STOP CHASING GRANTS.
START GETTING GRANT READY.

Grant readiness begins before the opportunity appears. I read a TechSoup article today titled “Stop Reacting to Grants. Start Planning for Them.” (Find it here: https://buff.ly/bpHrkhH) and it reinforces something I tell nonprofit leaders all the time:
The time to get grant ready is NOT when you find a grant.

If a deadline is approaching and your team is scrambling to find financial statements, update the board list, develop a program budget, determine outcomes, locate policies, or figure out exactly what the program does...

You don't have a grant-writing problem. You have a readiness problem.

And another grant search won't fix it.

That's why I created the BOC Boot Camp.

We help nonprofit leaders build the organizational infrastructure that makes funding possible—and sustainability more likely.

The next BOC Boot Camp starts THIS THURSDAY.

Stop chasing the next opportunity.

Build an organization that's ready when the opportunity comes.

Get Grant Ready. Stay Grant Ready.

Last week, I had the opportunity to present “The Cost of Being Unprepared: Grant Readiness and Compliance as Your Competitive Advantage” at Elevate Your Impact's Think & Thrive Thursday.

The feedback told me this is a conversation nonprofit leaders NEED to be having:

💬 “That was an amazing presentation.”

💬 “Thank you for helping to put the fear of God back into nonprofits.” 😂

But this one really stayed with me:

💬 “Your presentation helped me recognize what I was missing.”

That's exactly why I created the BOC Nonprofit Boot Camp.

Too many nonprofit leaders start with passion—and rightfully so. We see a need, we want to serve, and we get to work.

But eventually, we start asking:

Why aren't we getting grants? Why aren't funders investing in us?

Sometimes, the issue isn't your mission. It is the infrastructure behind your mission.

The BOC Nonprofit Boot Camp helps nonprofit leaders strengthen the foundation funders expect—from governance and budgeting to fundraising, grant readiness, program design, compliance, and more.

If my presentation made you recognize what your organization is missing, the Boot Camp is where we start filling those gaps.

It is time to stop just chasing grants and start building a nonprofit that's fundable AND sustainable. Register here: https://buff.ly/pUhe01V

So I miss this one! Probably because my son, Wesley, is 27. I was not aware that these accounts were available until Stephanie mentioned it last week. Come join us tomorrow to learn more about how you can access these for your children or grandchildren.

I just finished watching a grant webinar from a regional funder, and the Q&A reminded me of something I see far too often:

Nonprofits don't always have a funding problem. Sometimes, they have a readiness problem.

One question was about reporting unduplicated numbers. It was a valid question—but it also highlighted something important.

Funders aren't just listening to what you do. They are assessing whether your organization has the infrastructure, systems, and knowledge to accurately track, manage, and report what you do.

Most nonprofit leaders don't jump into this work because they love compliance, data collection, policies, or reporting. We jump in because we want to SERVE.

Passion launches the mission. Infrastructure positions it for investment.

Tomorrow, I'm talking about exactly this at Think & Thrive Thursday:

The Cost of Being Unprepared: Grant Readiness and Compliance as Your Competitive Advantage

We'll talk about what funders are really looking for, the gaps that may quietly be costing your organization funding, and how to build an organization funders can confidently trust with their dollars.

If you're doing amazing work but wondering, “Why aren't we getting funded?”—this conversation is for you.
