WOW WOW WOW, What a day! My 💓 is SOOO FULL, Y’all know how to SHOW UP, BRING THE PARTY and BE THE BEST SUPPORT a girl could ask for! Boots, B***s and BBQ started as a response to the love and support I was given during my battle with breast cancer and I’m so thankful for everyone that has supported me since then. NONE of us can do EVERYTHING but TOGETHER we can do SO MUCH!
We had 20 Teams show up and compete for Best PINK drink, Dessert and Chili 🥳 This year we did it a little different instead of bbq we did Chili and we added a People’s Choice Award so our friends could weigh in and we will definitely do that again. We had 13 teams for the corn hole tournament, 5 Pie Eating contestants, lots of great silent auction items to bid on. Chris Hardy, Rodney Hughes and Michael Geer played for us. We had a great MC Mike on the Mic giving shout outs to our sponsors, keeping us informed on turn in times and reminding us why we were there. Kids bounced in the bounce house, played Jenga, Connect 4, got their faces painted and painted some rocks. It was a GREAT day and it went by to fast for me 😢 so I’m going to start working on the next event so we can hangout again and cook 🥳🤠💕💓🙌🏼
I don’t have an exact number yet but WE raised OVER 10,000 on Saturday 🥳💓🥳 That is AMAZING! I’m excited to grow this year and make Boots B***s and BBQ an organization that is able to bring some HOPE to those in our path that get the call. We talked about it Saturday but aittle cancer or a lot of cancer is still life changing and we have to hang on to the things cancer can NOT steal! One of our main purposes is to provide cold caps to women going through chemo, if you haven’t heard of it I’d love to tell you about it. It’s not a promise that you won’t lose your hair but a lot of hair has been saved because of it and for someone faced with a lot of things they can’t control having HOPE that they could keep their hair is a big deal SO THANK YOU FOR HELPING US BRING HOPE TO THE CANCER STORY 💕💓💕💓💕💓💕💓
