๐Ÿš’ We are pleased to announce our newest black hat promotions!!! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

What does a black hat mean?

The probationary period typically lasts one year after graduation, during which time you demonstrate knowledge and commitment to your station team.

Probationary firefighters wear helmets with orange tetrahedrons and an orange shield. Upon promotion to black hat, the helmet shield is replaced with a black shield, and the tetrahedrons are changed to yellow, signifying advancement to the fire department.

Station officers presented shields to:

Station 1:
Dennys S.

Station 5:
Tim B.

Station 6:
Ryan E.
Bruce H.

Congratulations guys!! Keep up the excellent work! ๐Ÿš’

League City Legends Award ๐ŸŒŸ

Brad Goudie has served as the Fire Departmentโ€™s Quartermaster for only six months, yet his impact has already been significant.

During the severe storm on Sunday, March 8, while off duty, Brad checked his email from home and learned of a potential issue at the Blue Building warehouse. Without hesitation, he responded in person to investigate, discovering water pouring through the roof and threatening critical equipment and uniforms. Brad went far beyond expectations by remaining on site for hours to remove an estimated 400โ€“500 gallons of water and protect vital department assets.

His initiative and dedication reflect League Cityโ€™s standard of excellence, earning him the League City Legends Award.

Tuesday Training!

We would like to thank Dr. Christina Garcia-Ramirez and Dr. Nina Hernandez of Elevated PT for coming out last week to our drill field and discussing โ€œProper Lifting Techniquesโ€.

We learned valuable body mechanics to safely handle lift assist calls with EMS as well as protecting ourselves from injury during lifting.

Thank you both for coming out!
