A Heart Check for Our City — Houston
Homelessness is not just a statistic… it’s people.
It’s someone’s mother, father, child, or neighbor.
Right here in Houston, more than 3,300 people are experiencing homelessness on any given night. Over 1,200 are sleeping on the streets, while others stay in shelters or temporary spaces. Many are there due to job loss, rising living costs, or unexpected life crises — not because they want to be.
And globally, the crisis is even greater. An estimated 318 million people worldwide are homeless, and over 2.8 billion lack adequate housing. That means millions are living each day without stability, safety, or a place to truly call home.
This is why the Gospel must be lived, not just preached.
At Gospel Connection, we believe:
• A meal can restore dignity
• A prayer can restore hope
• A kind word can restore faith
• A helping hand can change a life
Let’s be reminded:
People don’t always need judgment — they need compassion.
They don’t always need advice — they need love.
They don’t always need distance — they need connection.
This week, let’s be intentional.
If you feel led, give, serve, volunteer, pray, or simply acknowledge someone who feels invisible.
Because when we serve the least of these… we serve Him.
“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” — Matthew 25:40
