Happy birthday to us! The Michelle Project turns 10. Today, we celebrate a decade of positive impact in the Greater Houston area and beyond. As we reflect on all of the work we have done and the families we have served, we are truly grateful. We look forward to many more years of creating educational opportunities inspired by holidays and observances.

Celebrate with us on September 5! Join us for Literacy Games. Enjoy an afternoon of fun, food, and field games inspired by children’s books. Tickets are on sale now. Visit www.themichelleproject.org.

✨ MEET THE MASTERMIND BEHIND PRODIGY! ✨

Meet Shenita Sneed, the visionary behind Prodigy Community Development and its programs. 💜💛

With 20+ years in youth and program development, Shenita Sneed has built her career around empowering young people and strengthening families. Her journey began in children’s ministry and evolved into a lifelong commitment to creating safe, enriching spaces where youth can grow, lead, and thrive. She is driven by a mission to uplift communities through education, mentorship, and hands-on support.

At the heart of her work is Prodigy Community Development, a nonprofit dedicated to youth and family empowerment. The organization focuses on building confidence, expanding opportunities, and equipping young people with the tools they need to succeed academically, socially, and personally.

Shenita’s vision centers on holistic development—supporting not just youth, but the families and communities around them.

Her work includes:

💜 Prodigy Community Development — Youth and family empowerment through education and support

🎉 Prodigy Fun Zone — Mobile enrichment experiences including STEM, cooking, and community events

🧠 Prodigy Masterminds — Mentorship focused on developing future leaders

☀️ Camp Prodigy — Enrichment-based camp combining life skills, learning, and fun

For Shenita, it’s more than programs—it’s about building confidence, strengthening families, and impacting the community.

One vision. Multiple programs. One mission: Empower. Equip. Educate.
