I'm lucky to have amazing mentors in Deltasig like Brother James "Duckie" Webb. He was the initial architect of the Leadership Foundation Scholarship Portal that everyone in Deltasig uses when applying for Foundation Scholarships.

His example and many others like him inspire my invovlement.

Hi, my name is Gilbert Landras. I am a brother in Delta Sigma Pi Professional Business Fraternity. This is my main Meet the Candidate meet and greet with other Deltasigs as we talk about my involvement and bid for the South Central Province.

We talk about "life long commitment" and part of that is keeping up with relationships and staying connected.

Pictured with me are Tom & Tawnya Hartberger. They were my Scoutmasters way back when I got my Eagle Scout rank. Over 20 years. This is us when they were going through Houston in 2020. They really reinforced the service and servant leadership I practice today.

A quick note saying hi when you dont talk to someone too often goes a long way in maintaining relationships. Time is gonna pass anyways I challenge you to send a quick note to 3 people you havent spoken with in over a year.

Let's talk Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). It's not a catchphrase or an acronym to throw around. I am a multi ethnic Third Culture Kid (TCK) who spent a significant part of my life living abroad. I'm ethnically Peranakan Chinese, Spanish, peppered with all the other western european Caucasians.

I have always been caught between cultures and racial demographics. Growing up in a unique situation has allowed me to learn about and unfortunarely experience prejudices and exclusion in its various forms. I know how terrible it feels when people use my community or my ethnic background against me.

Why is DEI so important to me...I fight for the inclusion and equity. Words arent enough. I'm literally doing it right now. There is an underlying problem we are not addressing. I will explain in my speech Saturday.

The first 3 photos are from 1988 in Singapore while the last 2 are from 2006. My mom is the one wearing the purple and gold top. My mom is the youngest of 11 siblings. I have literally 60+ cousins. I'm the only eurasian. Go figure.

This photo is significant to me because while being recruited for the software sales role I am in now I was sent an offer letter.

I asked for a meeting to negotiate my salary and benefits. My meeting was with my current Head of Sales who lived in Germany. Was a 6am meeting.

Got my confidence to make that power move because I reached out to several Deltasigs for advice. That and the suit made me feel good.

My point: Use your network, make that call, ask for help/advice, don't kneecap yourself.

Blessed to have attended a Brothers wedding this past weekend. Pictured are Deltasigs in attendance. Wearing the traditional clothing for a Bengali Wedding was a fun experience.

I hope you get to hear, "Deltasigs come to the front for a Deltasig only group pic!" One of these days soon.
