We have officially closed our latest GiveSendGo fundraising campaign for BRIC -- Building Resilience in Congo.
We are so grateful for all the donations.
The total money raised went from $460 to $820 in the last 24 hours of the campaign, thanks to an email appeal by Palladium Books to its fan base!!

Some good news.

We have heard from the Coordinator of BRIC that:

" little by little, a number of rebel soldiers are leaving the city of Goma to return to their cantonments [a military garrison or camp] and gradually respect the agreement with the Congolese government."

We have helped some to escape, but we can only do so much.

Unfortunately, I recently had this exchange of communication with the Coordinator of BRIC:

"News: The former president of the DRC has joined forces with the rebels and some members of the African, American, and European diaspora.
The rebels say they are satisfied!!!
Things are taking a turn for the worse."

I asked:
"What happened to the talks of peace, and the agreement signed by the Foreign Ministers of the DRC and Rwanda to pursue peace talks?"

He replied:
"The agreement between Rwanda and the DRC by the ministers is a good initiative but poorly coordinated, some politicians do not trust it, because there are several agreements and dialogue."

M23 Rebels now occupy the city of Goma, where BRIC is located.

They kill people indiscriminately, with or without provocation.

The occupiers held a mandatory meeting of Goma citizens in early February.

Those who did not attend were whipped.

In early February, more than 5,000 people were killed, not including soldiers.

At the meeting (held in a stadium), the M23 Rebels asked for young boys to join their army. The following Monday, no one sent their

children to school because it was understood that the M23 Rebels would take them to join their forces.

Things are dire in Goma.

These people had nothing to lose, but now they are even losing their lives.

Prices for food are astronomical.

Utilities are haphazard.

BRIC is attempting to teach young boys car repair mechanics to help keep them from joining the M23 Rebels, because they think they will be fed regularly.

Please pray for them.

Even small donations are greatly appreciated.
