Peru was the United States' 41st largest supplier of goods imports in 2019.
U.S. goods imports from Peru totaled $6.1 billion in 2019, down 22.1% ($1.7 billion) from 2018, but up 45% from 2009. U.S. imports from Peru are up 5.7% from 2008 (pre-FTA).
The top import categories (2-digit HS) in 2019 were: edible fruit & nuts (cranberries, blueberries, etc) ($1.4 billion), precious metal and stone (gold) ($684 million), knit apparel ($624 million), mineral fuels ($531 million), and vegetables (asparagus) ($381 million).
U.S. total imports of agricultural products from Peru totaled $2.6 billion in 2019, our 15th largest supplier of agricultural imports. Leading categories include: other fresh fruit ($1.2 billion), processed fruit & vegetables ($357 million), fresh vegetables ($330 million), unroasted coffee ($216 million), and spices ($57 million).
U.S. imports of services from Peru were an estimated $1.4 billion in 2019, 24.5% ($457 million) less than 2018, but 28.5% greater than 2009 levels. Leading services imports from Peru to the U.S. were in the travel, transport, and research and development sectors.
