Join us this Saturday July 18 at 10:00 am for a meeting of the Houston Theatre Organ Society (HTOS). This is a free event.

We meet to enjoy music from the 100-year-old Mighty Wurlitzer theater pipe organ. The organ includes extra features for providing orchestral sounds, percussion, and effects that were used for accompanying silent movies.

We’ll have a short business meeting followed by music from the organ. Before we adjourn, others in attendance are welcome to try out the Mighty Wurlitzer. Come enjoy the music and learn about this Houston treasure!

The organ is housed on the Houston City College (HCC) Central Campus — inside the 100-year-old former high school auditorium on that campus. Parking is free and is accessed from Alabama St at the corner of San Jacinto and Alabama (put 1299 Alabama St into your map app to get closest — but not WEST Alabama).

Please pass this information to others — to piano students, organists, silent movie buffs, and any others who might appreciate the artistry, and history, and technology associated with theater pipe organs!
