On April 24, 2023, Texas Bar Foundation announced their approval of a $25,000 grant to support the Cherish Our Children’s (COCI) Gaining Empowerment in Middle School Program (GEMS), a program dedicated to assisting middle school students that have an incarcerated family member or loved one. Ashley serves as the Executive Director of the Houston Community Land Trust (HCLT) and has robust experience in non-profit leadership and program development experience in the areas of education, S.T.E.M., workforce development, and affordable housing.
