Good morning Angels.
We have a lot of plans that we believe are for the betterment of the community ( not just habitat challenged people, but the entire community)
Now, interestingly enough I had a conversation with a very important community member this past weekend.
In a joking manner during a group conversation I assured everyone I was being good and being quiet, they didn't need to worry about me. Then the very important community member said and I quote " it's not always good to be quiet Jill, the squeaky wheel gets the grease" to that I said " don't give me permission boss lol"

Very interesting.
Anyway here is one project we will now be working on since we now have permission.
Since Hurricane Beryl came , this event showed us just how unprepared we actually are as a community. Before the storm hit we were in the nick of time and thanks to a church that embodies take care of God's children Believers Sanctuary we were able to get people to safety BEFORE the storm hit.
Only two churches that I'm aware of opened as a storm shelter. Believers Sanctuary of Alvin and The Church on Masters Road of Manvel
and God bless both of them.
Many aftermath shelters have opened in the last week due to massive power outages and Thank God for those shelters.

Now one of the projects we would like to work on and quite frankly would appreciate help with is a permanent weather shelter.
What is a permanent weather shelter? Good question, a permanent weather shelter is a place that is centralized and stays set up all year round in case of emergency weather situation, hurricanes, floods, or freezes.
The ideal building would be able to hold 150 people, have adequate refrigeration , restroom space, back up generators and be able to meet specifications for our disabled shelter seekers.
We need to be prepared so we can get word out far in advance not last minute.
This place would ONLY be opened during weather events.
That's a little bit of it.

Good afternoon Angels.
On April 27th the Alvin Rotary Club will be holding Frontier Day..it's a great festival.
Rides, vendors, a parade and car show...
Archangels of Texas will be participating in the parade this year!! We are always excited to be able to participate in this event, whether parade or vendor booth. Not only do we have a great time we also get to meet new friends and we also get the word out about our cause.
We advocate for the Habitat Challenged citizens of our community. We help through provision of resources and services. We have great partners, we work with United Way, Gulf Coast Center, Community Health Network and the Brazoria County Homeless Coalition.
We also work with many local area Churches, such as Faith Community Church, Grace Episcopal Church , The Harbor Church , St John the Baptist Catholic Church, and New Hope Church just to name a few.

Outreach is our purpose showing God's love for his people is our purpose.

Today some volunteers from The Harbor Church will be coming to help us clean out and organize our storage unit.
This is Compassion Day for The Harbor Church . On this day they choose churches and organizations around the area to serve.
We are excited that Archangels of Texas was one of the ones chosen . Lord knows we could use the help.

On behalf of Legacy Church and Archangels of Texas we would like to thank everyone who donated to the Warming Center. Our guests at the center were blessed in abundance by the community. Everything that was needed was provided. We would like to thank our community churches , individuals, and the city of Alvin for coming together.
We would like to thank Alvin PD and Alvin EMS and Alvin Office of Emergency Management for helping with provisions and providing security. The numerous supporters and volunteers.
Thank you all so much for making the warming center possible.
May God always continue to bless you, so you can keep blessing others.
