We hope everyone has had a great summer! It’s time to get Pack 83 back together and start another year of Cub Scouting.

Our first meeting of the new school year will be Monday, August 31 at 6:00 PM at the Gentry Safe Room. Since the following Monday is Labor Day, we’re treating this as our first September meeting.

We’ll have some fun activities planned, talk about what we have coming up this year, and get everyone back into the swing of things. We hope to see you there! 🌳 ⛺️

Tonight, we celebrated a great year of Scouting with:

• Adventure belt loop awards
• Fun Scout challenges and games
• Paper airplane competitions
• Time to reflect on all the adventures and accomplishments from this past year

While our regular year has wrapped up, we’re still looking forward to some fun summer activities as we begin planning for another exciting year in Scouting. Congrats scouts on your badges!

At this meeting, Scouts took on a fun, hands-on engineering challenge. They built a project using a limited set of materials, then wrote step-by-step instructions for it. Another Scout then tried to recreate the build using only those directions.

Recognized for consistently showing up and supporting every meeting. Sometimes simply being present and dependable is what makes the biggest impact.

Jordan Grant – District Driving Force Award
Honored as the driving force behind the startup and leadership of Houston Pack 0083.

Kristina Grant – Spark Plug Award
Recognized for Being the Spark that started the conversation to get pack 83 and the TCMH Charter, Volunteering to be the COR and Supporting Troop 0083.

Today, the Scouts learned all about trees. They also practiced tree identification by making bark rubbings with crayons.

They really enjoyed decorating a “Tree of Many Faces” at Emmett Kelly Park. The clay they used was made from baking soda, cornstarch, and water, making it safe for the trees.

This weekend, Pack 0083 enjoyed a great camping trip at Arrowhead Campground.

The Scouts stayed busy with a variety of activities, including crafts, fishing, archery, and slingshot shooting. They also had the chance to show off their talents during a fun camp talent show.

A big highlight of the weekend—every Scout earned their fishing patch! 🎣
