Good Afternoon,
Thank you to everyone who attended our recent Third Ward Public Safety Community Discussion. We appreciate the thoughtful conversation, the concerns you shared, and your commitment to improving public safety in the Third Ward.
At the end of the meeting we promised this: 1) we’ll be back; 2) we’re evaluating how HCDAO must help combat gun violence in the community.
Tonight, we will be back.
Our Homicide Bureau leader (and 20+ year HCDAO prosecutor), Sarah Seely, will be speaking at the Third Ward Super Neighborhood Meeting this evening at 6PM.
One of the most common requests we heard at the last meeting was people asking for additional information regarding homicide investigations and violent crime trends. Which is why Chief Seeley will return to answer questions. After the previous discussion, many of you voiced you appreciated her transparency and knowledge as a prosecutor—we know more people can benefit from hearing from her. Please feel free to come with more questions tonight and let your neighbors know:
