In 2010, President Obama signed Rosa's Law — which removed the term "mental retardation" from federal health, education, and labor statutes and replaced it with "intellectual disability" or
"individual with an intellectual disability."
The law was named atter Rosa Marcellino — a young girl with Down syndrome — and was a significant step in promoting inclusive, people-first language and reducing the stigma associated with the "R-word."
Real presidents have big vocabularies, hearts, AND brains ❤️
