Day 41 Disaster Relief

Please pray for Texas. They were hit with more severe flooding last month and now widespread wildfires. Pray that the Lord will send help to the firefighters, emergency responders and the homes and livelihoods in the path of the fires. Pray that Christ will be known in the midst of the disasters. God bless Texas.

Our hearts are with Texas today.

The situation is heartbreaking. The Ross Fire in North Texas has exploded to more than 80,000 acres, making it one of the largest active wildfires in the country. Fueled by extreme heat, dry vegetation, and powerful winds, the flames have raced across ranchland in Palo Pinto and Jack counties, forcing evacuations, closing roads, disrupting schools, and destroying homes, businesses, and historic buildings. Firefighters are working around the clock from both the ground and the air, but the fire remains only partially contained, and changing winds continue to create dangerous conditions. (ABC News⁠)

Please join me in praying for every family that has had to leave their home, every rancher watching generations of hard work threatened, every firefighter standing on the front lines, and every first responder risking their lives to protect others.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1)

Father, we ask You to send rain, calm the winds, strengthen every emergency worker, protect lives and property, and bring comfort to those who have suffered loss. Surround the people of Texas with Your peace, Your provision, and Your presence. We believe You are still our refuge in times of trouble. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Day 41 is preparing to head up to Reynoldsburg, OH, to provide donations for those affected by recent flooding. If you would like to help, we are collecting the following items:

Bibles
Personal hygiene products (ie, deodorant, shampoo)
Laundry detergent
Dish Soap
Paper towels
Toilet Paper
Clorox wipes
Trash bags
Baby supplies (ie, diapers, wipes, formula)
Electrolyte drinks
First aid supplies
Non perishable foods (easy to make)
Canned goods
Work gloves
Rakes
Shovels
Box fans
Dog food, cat food
Generators (working condition)

We are also planning to take two campers to Barnardsville, NC which were donated by good friends here in Ohio.

Our drop off at CRI went well! It’s always great to see Colton and his family, and other familiar faces of Green Mountain!
Please continue to pray for this community. They’re in the rebuilding stages now after almost two years since Helene. The work continues, but we know the Lord is faithful!

Getting supplies ready for Western North Carolina. These materials were supplied by our friends at Hands of Christ. We will be taking them down to CRI this Friday.

We plan to collect some donations from our church family this week, and are so appreciative of their hearts to give.

Here is the current list of items we are accepting:

Day 41 will be returning to WNC next month!

We continue to keep an eye out for regional events, such as the Southern WV floods. We are thankful for God's provision through some generous friends who have donated or reached out to donate a camper for families in need. Please be in prayer that the Lord will guide these campers to the families He wants to bless.

Genesis 39: 20-21 teaches about God's faithfulness in difficult situations. We can always trust Him to lead and bless us according to His perfect will!

We will bring any donations received to WNC next month and will share further updates as we finalize details on the upcoming relief trip.

We would like to let everyone know that Cody and Brittany have decided to take a well-deserved break from actively serving with Day 41 while they take some time to focus on completing a building addition to their home. They expect the addition to take a few months and plan to return once the work is completed.

We look forward to seeing how the addition goes, knowing this is something they patiently and sacrificially postponed in order to prioritize serving those in Western North Carolina and other disaster-affected areas. Their contributions to Day 41 and the communities we serve have been heartfelt and Christ-centered!

Our team will continue to prepare for planned/upcoming relief projects with CRI and Appalachian Navy WNC while also continuing to monitor the flood response in the Richmond, KY area.

Please join us in wishing Cody, Brittany and their children a productive, successful and - if possible with all the construction work going on - restful break from disaster relief work!

Good morning!
We want to share a few updates. First, thank you to everyone who continues to support this ministry. It is not possible without you all, and we are so grateful!

In regards to a relief trip to Richmond, Virginia, it has been placed on hold indefinitely, unless something changes. We have been in contact with a church that has acted as a relief center. Their pastor has informed us that they have an abundance of supplies! Praise God! If anything changes, we will share with you all. Please continue to pray, as there was a lot of damage from the flooding that occurred. We are working with Appalachian Navy to be on standby if anything is needed for long term relief efforts.

We are currently collecting some much needed supplies to take to CRI in Western North Carolina to help restock their shelves, so if you are able to donate, it would be greatly appreciated! Please comment or message us, and we can arrange for pickup/drop-off.

The images and stories coming out of Kentucky after the recent floods are absolutely devastating. We will be teaming up with Appalachian Navy in the coming days to collect much needed supplies, and will share what is needed soon! Until then, please remain in prayer for those who lost loved ones, homes, farms, and businesses. May God be with them all.
