“When I feel lost
and so afraid,
When shadows have hid the sun away,
When my heart feels heavy
and it’s hard to pray,
I remember what my mother used to say,
Shalom, Shalom,
Peace be with you wherever you go,
Shalom, Shalom,
Let this melody begin to bring you home…”

Well done Coach Marciel 👏🏼

38 years. One lasting legacy. 🌊🏀

As first reported by Honolulu Star-Advertiser, Kailua head coach Wally Marciel is stepping away from coaching after 36 years in the OIA and 14 years leading the Surfriders in his home community.

Congratulations on an incredible coaching career, Coach!
“It’s been a fantastic 14 years at Kailua High School, being able to coach in the community I grew up in. I want to thank all administrators at Kailua High School, along with all the players, coaches and team moms for believing in the program. What an awesome ride. Go Surfriders. From the beginning, our motto has been ‘We Are Together.’ Aloha.”

Pray for Hawai’i 🙏🏼

Up to 14” of rain over the last two days has drastically changed what O’ahu looks like. Thank God for our first responders, law enforcement officers and crews restoring the islands electricity, who are doing all they can right now. May God sustain our people and our land through all of this!

Our crew set out to hike the first peak of Mt. Olomana. The plan was simple, move at a steady pace, enjoy the climb, and take in the beauty around us. No rushing. Just step by step.

At the base of the trail head, The Lord reminded us of something deeper. We had no idea of what He was up to though.

When you slow down enough to walk with Him, you realize He was never just waiting at the destination, He’s a part of the journey.

What started as “just a hike” turned into conversations about life, faith, and surrender. The kind of conversations that only happen when you get away from the noise and give God space to speak.

Scripture says, “The Lord is my shepherd…” and on that ridge we were reminded what that really means. A shepherd doesn’t rush the flock. He leads them. Guides them. Protects them. Walks with them.

As we were scaling the mountain, the Lord was working on our hearts.

Along the journey, one of our brothers made the decision to publicly surrender his life to Christ and be baptized.

We thought we were just going on a hike.

But ministry isn’t an event.
It’s a lifestyle.

Sometimes it happens in classrooms.
Sometimes it happens on ballfields.
And sometimes… it happens on a mountain ridge in Hawai‘i.

Keep walking with the Shepherd. He knows the trail.

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.”
- 1 Peter 2:9

In a world where the next generation is constantly being told to “live your own truth,”
to chase whatever “makes you happy,”
or “if it feels good, do it”…

We believe there is a greater truth worth reminding them of.

Their identity is not defined by culture.
Not by social media.
Not by the pressure of the crowd.

Their identity is found in Christ.

They are chosen.
They are set apart.
They are called out of darkness into His wonderful light.

We believe one of our greatest callings is to remind the next generation who they truly are, sons and daughters of the King, created with purpose, called to live boldly for Him on and off the field.

When young athletes understand their identity in Christ and understand the platform they’ve been given, everything changes.

Sometimes the best perspective comes when we step away from the noise.

The climb isn’t always easy… but the perspective at the top is worth it.

God often speaks the clearest when we create space to hear Him.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” - Psalm 46:10

Our Windward Area Rep, Callen Coleman has been investing in his student-athletes & encouraging them in their walks with Jesus.

One student-athlete in particular is Keoki Cypriano III. Keoki is one of our Huddle leaders at Kailua HS & the Captain of their football team.

In the State Championship game this fall, he caught the game-winning interception, leading his team to Kailua’s 1st-ever HHSAA D1 State Championship!

But, what is cooler than making the championship-winning play?...proclaiming Jesus at public school!

At Huddle, Keoki boldly shared his faith with his peers. He spoke on Ecclesiastes 3 & encouraged friends & teammates to ‘press into Jesus in every season of life’.

“I perceived that whatever God does endures forever; nothing can be added to it, nor anything taken from it...”
-Ecclesiastes 3:14

God is moving in Hawaii!!! 🌈

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith…”

Boldness is when a high school senior stands before his peers reminding them of the mission!

“Following Jesus doesn’t stop when we leave this huddle or our churches on Sunday. Faith is meant to be lived out every day! In our homes, at school, during practice, and in the middle of games in the heat of the moment. Jesus isn’t just part of our schedule, He’s part of our everyday life.”

There have been prophetic words that “Hawaii would be the lighthouse for the rest of the Nations.” What if every sports team across our Country operated and prayed with this kind of faith?
