May 5 is National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Relatives (MMIWR).

Indigenous women, girls, and two-spirit people face alarmingly high rates of violence and disappearance, yet their stories are too often ignored or erased.

In solidarity with Native communities—and as part of our ongoing efforts to support and uplift our LGBTQ+ Indigenous loved ones—we encourage you to dive deeper, uplift Indigenous-led organizations, and take action, whether by amplifying voices, supporting grassroots efforts, or educating your own communities.

As a starting point, check out the following Native-led organizations:
• The National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center | niwrc.org
• The Urban Indian Health Institute | uihi.org
• The Coalition to Stop Violence Against Native Women | csvanw.org

Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing moms and mothering people! 💗💐

It was the love of a mother that drove the creation of PFLAG, and your love and support continue to make an impact in the LGBTQ+ community. Today, we celebrate all of you--LGBTQ+ moms, straight and cis moms, chosen and step-moms, trans moms, gender nonconforming moms, and all mothering people--for everything you do to make this world a more loving and inclusive place for your LGBTQ+ kids of all ages. 🏳️‍🌈

Lock this Māhū Extravaganza on your summer calendar!

On Saturday, July 11, at Hawaiʻi Theatre, there will be one more chance to see the incredible live performance of “The Return of Kapaemahu” hula show.

And thanks to the Honolulu Rainbow Film Festival, it will be paired with a screening of “MĀHŪ: A Trans-Pacific Lover Letter,” a powerful short film about an innovative theater production that aims to reclaim and celebrate the traditional place of honor and respect given to māhū in Hawaiʻi.

At just $10, tickets are gonna sell out fast, so stay tuned to HRFF.org for details on when they’ll be released.

Hope to see you at the most spectacular event of the summer!

Let’s show some love for the “L” in LGBTQ+! ❤️🧡🤍💗💜 To our le***an loved ones across the gender and sexuality spectrum: You are loved, you are valid, and you are valued members of our communities, LGBTQ+ or otherwise.

This Le***an Visibility Day and every day, let’s give the le***ans in our lives their flowers. 💐

🗣️ Calling all LGBTQ+ allies! We need your voices to combat discrimination against our trans and nonbinary loved ones.

It’s a well-documented fact that trans and nonbinary people report even higher rates of discrimination at work than gay and le***an individuals. And in the year 2026, those rates are only getting worse.

That’s where you come in: In our upcoming PFLAG Academy Online virtual learning session, “Want to Be a Trans and Nonbinary Ally?: Expand Your Ally Journey Beyond the Binary”, participants will:

• Learn more about how gender identity and gender expression have traditionally been understood in the U.S. and the ways that they are changing.
• Discuss the importance of pronouns, how to use affirmed pronouns properly, and what to do when mistakes are made.
• Grow the skills they need to be stronger allies to people who are trans and nonbinary.
• Receive concrete suggestions for things to do (and not do) to ensure that people who are trans and nonbinary are supported and included.
• Find out where to get additional resources for continued learning.

Don’t miss out! Join us on Thursday, April 30 at 8:30pm ET / 5:30pm PT by registering today at pflag.org/onlineacademy
