In celebration of this past weekend, for 250 years, civil engineers have played a quiet but critical role in shaping how America grows and thrives.

The ASCE Headquarters is honored to be featured in USA Today’s America 250 series, highlighting the people and industries behind the country’s progress.

From improving public health through clean water systems to connecting communities through transportation, civil engineers have helped shape the way we live.

And their work is just as important as we look ahead to the future.
