Why do blind people go whale watching?

Because when the crew calls out a whale, 27 volunteer guides on this boat find it, then turn to their participant and describe it. How far. Which way it's moving. The spout, the back, the tail. 29 blind and low vision adventurers saw whales in February through a guide's words.

Rain didn't cancel run club. Guides showed up, athletes showed up, and one guide ran the loop blindfolded to learn what it's like.

"We go places and do things I would have never done by myself." That's one of our participants after a botanical garden outing. Gardens, whale watching, rock climbing, dolphins: this is what your friends who volunteer with us spend their Saturdays on.
